The presentation was made relatively early, the new model will not be launched until spring 2026. Until then, patience is still called for.
New Toyota RAV4 – Exterior
The sixth generation of the Toyota RAV4 gets a comprehensive design upgrade. Despite the same dimensions, the new RAV4 looks more robust and memorable. More adventurous than sporty, and accordingly the Japanese have given the SUV a complete makeover. For example, there is a completely new front with a new honeycomb-style grille.

The headlights have also been revised and are now slimmer, similar to the Toyota C-HR+. Bumpers and air intakes further down have also been processed. The new appearance at the front is crowned by a new logo, which now sits on the hood.

Not much has changed in the profile view, with the black wheel arches and floor sills, the RAV4 sticks to its look for the terrain, but there are further changes to the rear.

Here you will find a completely newly developed look. Starting with the slim taillights, which extend far over the tailgate, before they are interrupted by a new model lettering with a smaller logo above it. There has also been a revision of the bumper, so that the RAV4 with a modern rear end looks even more striking than before.
New Toyota RAV4 – Drive and range
The biggest changes in the engine of the RAV4 can be found in the plug-in hybrid, but first to the full hybrid version of the SUV. There is still a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The engine output was improved to 191 hp for the all-wheel-drive and 183 hp for the front-wheeler.

In the plug-in hybrid variant, there was a significant increase in range to 100 km (WLTP) due to a new 22.68 kWh battery. The charging power of the plug-in has been increased to 50 kW for fast charging stations, so that charging from 10 to 80% should only take 30 minutes. There is an 11 kW charger for charging at home. But the performance values of the plug-in hybrid have also been improved. For example, there is now up to 304 hp in the all-wheel-drive variant, so that the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.8 seconds. The front-wheel drive variant still has a strong 268 hp.
New Toyota RAV4 – Interior and Infotainment
In addition to the changes to the drive and exterior design, the Japanese have also revised the interior properly. A new center console, a new dashboard and a more robust design reflect the changes on the outside as well on the inside. In addition to the design changes, there is also a major upgrade for the digital elements of the RAV4, so there are not only new digital displays, but also a new touchscreen for infotainment and a completely new software platform called "Arene" are on board.

The new 12.3-inch digital instrument display now integrates three-dimensional representations of the navigation and has a completely new, more modern look for an improved overview. The 12.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment is also new and stands out with a good mix of touch controls and buttons. For example, there are buttons and a rotary switch for volume and climate functions under the touchscreen.

However, some functions such as seat heating or steering wheel heating have slipped into a bar of the touchscreen. The new Arena platform for infotainment offers customizable speed dial buttons, a voice assistant, as well as Google-based navigation and over-the-air updates. The Toyota app can also be used to control the climate and charge of the vehicle from the mobile phone.
Arene is also the basis for the next generation of Toyota Safety Sense assistance systems, which comes with innovations such as the frontal cross traffic warning or the revised blind spot assist. A new lane change assistant and improved detection of obstacles and other road users also ensure better emergency braking assist. There is also a new assistant for motorways that warns of rapidly approaching rear traffic.

Otherwise, the proven Toyota philosophy of functionality over form applies in the interior and you can expect a typically solid interior that convinces above all with its suitability for everyday use and robustness.
